‘Tis the season to be jolly and in this episode we do our best to spread some holiday cheer. We look at the evolution of Winter Warmers and other seasonal winter offerings stretching from the dark ages to the modern day. We are joined by our friend and Barley’s brewmaster Angelo Signorino, who has been at forefront of the Ohio craft beer scene for nearly three decades. Angelo shares the history of the much beloved Barley’s Christmas Ale, stories from Christmas Ale tapping parties of years past, and surprises us with a delicious double oatmeal stout aged in maple bourbon barrels – Breakfast of Conquerors. Along the way we sample holiday beers from Samuel Smiths, Anchor, Land Grant, Outerbelt, and Columbus Brewing Company.

Another great pod! Loved hearing from Angelo too, especially with all the knowledge that he has on the local history and evolution of Columbus craft brewing.
I loved the New Orleans/Jazz rendition of Sleigh Ride at the end too – who is the band? I’m hoping they have more holiday classics in that style for some office background music for the next couple of weeks!
Hi Jeff!
It puts a smile on my face to hear you enjoyed the podcast! It was an especially fun conversation for me to be a part of as well, as we ran down some pretty darn good winter warmersl. Angelo is always a pleasure to visit with!
The song you are asking about is from the 1998 Squirrel Nut Zippers “Christmas Caravan” album. A fantastic holiday listen front to back IMHO.
Cheers, Mark
