Combustion’s Clintonville Location to Open This Saturday (8/13)

After 3+ months as a one-brewery neighborhood Clintonville will be back to two breweries this Saturday (Aug 13, 2022) when Combustion will opens their second location in the space formerly occupied by Lineage Brewing (2971 N High St, Columbus, OH 43202). Doors open at 11:00 am with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:30 am.

While this blogger and Clintonville resident was sad to see Lineage exit, I’m excited to see what Combustion can bring to the neighborhood. They have been delivering a consistently good product to the folks of Pickerington since 2017. On those infrequent occasions when I make it out to the east side I’ve always been impressed with their beer. On my most recent visit, I found the Pelatonia Pilsner to be one of the best locally brewed pilsners out there, which is no small praise for this pilsner lover. The folks at Combustion have been very supportive of the local community and craft beer in general, I expect they will be a great fit for Clintonville. Co-owner and brewmaster Keith Jackson cut his teeth at Columbus Brewing Company, followed by several years as the head brewer at the now defunct Gordon Biersch location in the Arena District, so he knows his way around a variety of styles. Asked what the folks of Clintonville should expect, Jackson had this to say.

“Fresh, Balanced, Drinkable is our mantra. We are ecstatic to open the doors of our second location to the public on August 13th! Providing the freshest and highest quality craft beer and cider to the Clintonville and surrounding communities is something we’ve been working towards the past few months and we can’t wait to celebrate with everyone on the 13th!”

The Clintonville Taproom will maintain a wide variety of beer and cider on tap as well as 16 oz 4-pack cans, 32 oz crowler cans, and 64 oz growlers of specialty beers to-go. In support of neighboring businesses, customers will be able to order food from local restaurants right from their table in the Taproom. Light snacks available at the bar. For those looking beyond Saturday the brewery taproom will be open six days a week: Tue-Thu 4-10 pm, Fri-Sat 11-midnight, and Sun 11 am-9 pm.

The taplist for the grand opening is given below. I suggest you start with the Pelatonia Plisner, but hey if you want to order the blueberry blonde ale who am I to judge. If you cant find something you like on this list, you might want to seek professional help.
