As the craft beer industry matures, brewers are facing a number of economic challenges. In this episode we discuss those challenges with longtime Columbus Business First writer, Dan Eaton, who has covered the beer industry since the aughts as a reporter for Columbus Business First. After reviewing some of the stats that highlight the current state of the industry we take a closer look at the factors that have led to a plateauing in the number of craft breweries and a modest decline in the volume of beer sold. We consider breweries that have found ways to succeed, review local breweries that have closed over the past ten years, and attempt to project where the industry is heading.

Pat, I can’t remember the name of that Burton ale but I do remember it sitting next to Adams and bluebird and Conniston ales 20 years ago back when Gentiles had better beers, I seen to recall in having having a championship designation.
Oh well, see you Thursday
